Question

After reading your book on the "15 Fixes", we've decided to rewrite our school plagiarism policy. The one we currently have is far too wordy and quite ineffective. Would you have any samples of effective policies? What do you think should be included in such a policy?

The Grade Doctor says:
|
Schools or districts that I know that have appropriate policies include
St. Michaels University School, Victoria
Archbishop MacDonald High School, Edmonton
Lakeview High School, Battle Creek, MI
Valparaiso High School, IN
Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC
What do you think should be included in such a policy?
Clear definitions of cheating and plagiarism
How students will be assisted to know what they are and arent
Processes to be used when cheating and/or plagiarism are suspected
Behaviourial and academic consequences for cheating and plagiarism (the
academic/assessment consequence should always be do it again honestly).
