Question

Good Mr. O'Connor, We are reading your book as a school and are hoping that you can provide us some clarification on what your definition of "effort" is in regards to developing a common grading practice. Thank you in advance, Susan Britton

I think "Effort" is an inappropriate term to use but generally it means (all) the behaviors that
we value and would like to see students demonstrating, e.g., teamwork, organization,
punctuality, persistence, etc, etc. I far prefer terms like "Work Habits,", "Learning Skills,"
"Characteristics of Successful Learners," "Learner Profile," etc. etc.
