Question

Mr. O'Connor,
Will you please help me find samples of high school standards-based report cards? I would appreciate it if you would help me find school districts who have adopted a new reporting format at the high school level. Thank you!

I apologize for the delay in replying to this post; it was partly caused by a largely
unsuccessful search for high school standards-based report cards. As far as I can tell
there are few if any examples of true standards-based report cards being used at the high
school level. I have been told that there are some districts in Vermont and Maine who have
moved in this direction but I have no specifics. I also know of some private schools who
have moved in this area but most still have some way to go. The Ontario provincial high
school report card is an excellent example of an expanded format report card with
learning skills (behaviours) separated from achievement but it is not standards-based. So
not much help I am afraid. If anyone reading this post knows of high school standards-
based report cards I would very much appreciate it if you would let me know about them.
